  We went to the Mitre 3 years ago when we moved to Burnham, very tired decore and owners ready for retirement, but the food was amazing, been a very busy few years and last Mother's Day our daughter took us for Mother's Day dinner to the mitre which was fine for a lunch and service very good. So decided to book this valentines for a table and again service excellent, but my wife is Cypriot and we have travelled widely and was surprised to get boil in the bag food that you can buy in supermarkets with a few added spices. We could cook Klefitco (Shank of Lamb) from Tesco much better and the Beef Steffardo wasn't authentic Greek, we were very disappointed but must say the service was excellent, but restaurants must realises when you can buy a lamb shank wholesale for £3 and then cook it beautifully in a traditional style and sell it for £18, you don't expect it to be a cheap frozen boil in the bag lamb shank! It doesn't take much to make authentic food rather than all restaurants go to Iceland.
